Description

This training will explore how housing and service providers can promote housing stability for persons with disability by providing reasonable accommodations and modifications. As housing and service providers knowing your role in providing reasonable accommodations and modifications is important to ensure you are meeting your obligations under Fair Housing, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Rehabilitation Act.

This course is an introduction to understanding your role in providing accommodations and how to support changes that enable persons with disabilities to fully benefit from their housing and take part in programs and services.

What You Will Learn

Identify obligations to make reasonable accommodations/modifications
Implement best practices for responding to accommodation and modification requests
Identify steps to improve practices and policies with requirements as outlined under Fair Housing, ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Learning Experience

This webinar will take place through the CSH Training Center platform. Participants will sign in to their accounts to access the learning and materials.

Stephanie Sideman

Senior Program Manager

Stephanie Sideman is a Senior Program Manager for the Corporation for Supportive Housing where she is the program manager of the Chicago Coordinated Entry System. Stephanie has been with CSH for 12 years and before that she worked in programs serving people experiencing homelessness for ten years and earned a master’s degree in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago.
