Christine Kim

Founder | My Dog Is My Home

Christine Kim founded My Dog Is My Home in 2013 to amplify the stories of people experiencing homelessness with their pets, advocate for pet-inclusive housing, and support human services organizations in their efforts to accommodate people's companion animals. She is a macro social worker with a specialized interest in building programs and policies that recognize the power of the human-animal bond. She served as the first director of the NYC Mayor's Office of Animal Welfare under Mayor Bill de Blasio and is the recipient of the ASPCA’s 2021 Public Service Humane Awards for her leadership at the NYC’s Mayor’s Office during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to leading My Dog Is My Home, Christine currently serves on the board of directors for Animal Care Centers of NYC.

Shoshana Mostoller

Storytelling Facilitator & Technical Assistance | My Dog Is My Home

Shoshana is a veterinary social worker with close to ten years experience in animal welfare. She is currently the Storytelling Facilitator and Technical Assistance Specialist for My Dog Is My Home, as well as the co-chair of the Hampton Roads Outreach Coalition, a collaborative network of animal welfare organizations in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia.

My Dog Is My Home is a national nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to shelter and housing for people experiencing homelessness and their pets. The organization works to assist service providers expand capacity to allow humans and their companion animals to remain together in the face of homelessness. My Dog Is My Home is devoted to supporting individuals' ability to maintain their most important relationships while securing shelter. This helps ensure every family’s right to build a home.
