90 Minute Webinar

Keeping People Housed:
Substance Use, Tenancy, and Recovery Support

Substance use can create complex situations in supportive housing, requiring staff to balance tenant choice, housing stability, safety, and lease expectations. This practical webinar helps supportive housing professionals respond to substance use with greater confidence, consistency, and compassion.

Participants will explore the continuum of substance use, consider the different needs substance use may meet, and examine how substance use can affect health, relationships, safety, and tenancy. Through realistic supportive housing scenarios, participants will practice separating substance use from lease-related behaviors, using person-centered and non-stigmatizing language, responding to different levels of readiness for change, and having conversations that support rather than pressure tenants.
