Part of the Case Ready: Core Skills Program

Responding in Critical Moments: Crisis Support and Restorative-Centered Care

This module prepares case managers to respond effectively during moments of heightened vulnerability, urgency, or crisis in the lives of people we work with. Whether navigating mental health emergencies, substance use concerns, housing instability, or other acute challenges, participants will learn how to remain grounded, responsive, and supportive, prioritizing safety, dignity, and connection.

The module introduces restorative-centered care as a compassionate, pragmatic approach to support individuals without judgment, while also exploring how to assess levels of need and implement appropriate layers of support. Participants will also learn how to collaborate with crisis response systems, de-escalate tense situations, and plan for stabilization and follow-up.
