Part of the Case Ready: Core Skills Program

Foundations of Case Management: Understanding Your Role and Readiness

This module serves as the cornerstone of the Case Manager Qualification Program. It is designed to ground participants in the core identity, purpose, and responsibilities of a case manager. Through guided reflection, interactive discussion, and foundational learning, participants will explore what it truly means to be a case manager; a professional role rooted in advocacy, coordination, and person-centered support.

Participants will begin by examining their own values, experiences, and motivations and identifying how these personal elements can shape and strengthen their approach to case management. The module will also introduce key concepts such as the case manager’s position within systems of care, ethical responsibilities, and the importance of cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed practice.
