The Emerging Developer Training Center is a digital campus, offering a library of pre-recorded webinars, self-paced courses, and modules. Each module serves as a compass, guiding users though five common phases of producing supportive housing projects. Course offerings are designed to equip emerging supportive housing developers with knowledge about: Organizational Capacity, Understanding, and Preparedness; Pre-development and Project Feasibility; Capital and Financing; Development; and Operations.

Phase 1. Capacity and Preparedness/Readiness

Organizational preparedness asks you to conceptualize and consider key facets of your organization's capacity to successfully complete a permanent supportive housing development.


Phase 2. Pre-development and Feasibility

Pre-development and feasibility activities provide an overview of the comprehensive planning and preparation needed to develop your project site, including sourcing funding, solidifying the project design, and securing service and management partnerships.

Phase 3. Capital Financing & Budgeting

Project financing and budgeting activities examine and secures the sources that will finance the physical structure of your project, whether for new construction or acquisition/rehabilitation, and identifies funding for operations and service requirements

Phase 4. Development

Development activities include the management of site acquisition/closing and construction outputs for the supportive housing project.

Phase 5. Project Operations

Operations activities include the oversight of property management and lease-up, and supportive services staffing and operations for the supportive housing project.
