MASSACHUSETTS ALLIANCE FOR SUPPORTIVE HOUSING
PSH LEARNING FORUM
The Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Learning Forum seeks to build capacity among emerging and established housing developers to expand PSH across the Commonwealth for individuals and families experiencing chronic and long-term homelessness. The learning forum will take place biweekly, from April 17th – August 28th, with eleven virtual training sessions on topics that include development, operation, and delivery of services for PSH, such as funding sources, tenant engagement, asset management and more.
Forum Sessions
Participants will learn how to build a development team, create joint ventures, engage people with lived experience in planning, and garner community support.
Participants will become familiarized with the principles of capital budgeting and sources and uses.
Participants will acquire tips on creating project designs. Participants will also learn how to produce designs that are trauma-informed and include reasonable accommodations and accessibility features.
Participants will glean information about the predevelopment process, such as site due diligence and permitting.
Participants will discover insights into the best practices in handling community opposition, including how to: take a proactive approach, create positive messaging, and develop effective communication strategies.
Participants will learn how to access state funding sources from the Executive Offices of Housing and Livable Communities and Health and Human Services (EOHLC and EOHHS).
Partcipants will discover new or improved property management approaches needed to sustain supportive housing. In addition, partcipants will learn about leases and enforcement, coordinating services, working with tenants, managing crisis and emergencies, and common challenges.
Participants will glean critical insights about fair housing policies, quality improvement standards, and supportive housing outcomes.
Participants will acquire key information about service design and planning, the different types of supportive service models, and evidence-based practices in order to support tenants.
Participants will learn fundamental aspects to setting financial goals and determining and tracking key performance indicators.
Participants will obtain information on how to produce quality PSH, increase housing inventory, and finance the preservation of PSH.

What if I can't attend all sessions?
If you are unable to make the sessions all the virtual sessions will be recorded and you will have access to session materials.

Can I can cancel my registration?
Cancellation requests made before or on Friday, March 29, 2024, will incur a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations made after Friday, March 29, 2024, will receive no refund. All cancellation fees(i.e., 3.5% credit card administration fee) will also be deducted from your refund.
